  10. Effective immediately!  The State of Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA) is now requiring a complete fingerprint background check for all PEAK employees.

      The City will conduct a formal interview process for each position within the PEAK program.  If you are selected for hiring, we will provide you a contingent offer of employment.  The offer is contingent on your ability to successfully complete and pass the City required pre-employment physical and drug test, as well as the LARA mandated Child Care Background Check, including a fingerprint screening process.  All forms related to the background process will be provided to you by the City and we will work with you to schedule an appointment for the fingerprinting process.  The City will pay for one (1) LARA required fingerprint child care background check.  If you accept an offer of employment and do not appear at the agreed upon scheduled fingerprint screening time, any rescheduled appointments are your responsibility at a cost of over $50.00.

Effective 03/11/2020, the City will only accept employment applications by email or fax. This provision is being implemented as a result of CDC guidelines to minimize exposure between employees and the public during the widespread COVID-19 situation in the United States.
