Building Permit Fee Schedule

The determination of project value for the purpose of calculating the permit feet, shall be the total value of all construction work, including all finished work, painting, roofing, electrical, plumbing, heating, air conditioning, elevators, fire extinguish systems, landscape, and other permanent work or equipment in accordance with Section 150.16 of the City Code. The value for all new construction should be consistent with the International Code Council square footage cost table based on the 2012 IBC.

Where work for which a permit is required by the Code is started or proceeded with prior to obtaining a building permit, the building permit fees shall be doubled in accordance with section 150.16 of the City Code.

Sample Calculation:
Project cost of $45,000

  • Base Fee (chart above) $375
  • 5 x $7 = $35
  • ($7 for every thousand above $40,001 ($45,000 - $40,001 = $4,999, rounded up to $5,000)
  • Base Fee $375 + $35 = $410

Note: In projects with multiple buildings, permits will be issued for each building separately. This allows buildings to be final-inspected and occupied as they are completed.

Building Plan Review

  • Preliminary review of drawing when requested - 25% of building permit fee.

Special Permits

  • Mobile Home Installation: $50 per mobile home
  • Demolition: $50 per structure
  • Moving: $50 per structure
  • Flammable Liquid: $40 per tank
  • Special Inspections: $75/hr. or fraction thereof (Any inspection for which no fee has been established or for temporary installation.)

  • Appeals: $250 filing fee

Zoning Board of Appeals

  • Appeals: $250 filing fee
