Adopt-A-Bench or Table

The Adopt-A-Bench/Table Program provides civic-minded individuals the opportunity to purchase a bench or table that not only provides rest and relaxation for park visitors, but also allows for the recognition of a group or individual in a unique and lasting manner.

Each tax-deductible donation will have an individualized engraved plaque (bench slats also may be engraved).

The City of Mt. Pleasant launched the Adopt-a-Bench or Table program in February 2012 to improve visitor experiences within the City of Mt. Pleasant parks.

How to adopt a bench or table

  1. Complete the application and send to MPPR.
  2. You will be contacted to confirm receipt of your request. The Parks and Recreation Commission must confirm all qualified Adopt-a-Bench/Table requests by resolution, allowing for public input and comment.
  3. Once confirmed, patrons will be asked to enter into a maintenance and life-cycle agreement with the City of Mt. Pleasant.
A donated bench/table has a life cycle of 12 years. The price includes the purchase of the bench/table plus shipping, installation of plaque or engraved slats, installation of bench/table and 12 years of maintenance. Benches/tables are designed and installed to reflect the character of the parks and blend with existing structures.
