School classes, scout groups, college organizations, fraternities and
sororities, day care centers, neighborhood groups, even families, can schedule
a tour of the
fire station by calling the Fire Department at 779-5100, extension 5105. In
addition to viewing the fire fighting equipment and vehicles, fire fighters
can offer a wide range of prevention education, including fire hazard
awareness, methods of putting out fires, home escape plans, fire extinguisher
selection and operation, smoke detector placement, techniques for
extinguishing clothing when it is on fire, and the importance
of address numbers on homes or businesses.
