During this eight week course, held one evening per week at the Mount
Pleasant Division of Public Safety, participants will learn about the Youth
Services Unit, Uniformed Traffic Investigation, Drunk Driving Law, Uniformed
Patrol Operations, Detective Bureau Investigations and the Emergency
Services Team. Participants will also participate in a mock crime scene with

the better off we all are," Public Safety Director Bill Yeagley said.
The academy also builds lasting relationships with participating residents
and public officers. "Input from these folks helps police better
understand the community and its concerns," Yeagley said. "Their
input could help assist officers in decision making." The ultimate goal
