Investigation Update
August 5, 2008
The Mt. Pleasant Police Department has concluded the
investigation into the Breaking and Entering and Malicious
Destruction of Property that occurred at the Sacred Heart
Elementary School over the July 4th weekend.
During the investigation and subsequent interviews, four
individuals were identified as suspects in this event.
All four suspects are juveniles.
Three of the suspects are 14 years old.
The fourth suspect is 15 years old.
All four suspects have Mt. Pleasant addresses.
The completed investigation was forwarded to the Isabella
County Prosecutor’s Office for review on possible charges.
The prosecutor’s office issued juvenile petitions on all
four suspects. Two of
the 14 year olds and the 15 year old were petitioned for felony
Breaking and Entering and Malicious Destruction of a Building Over
$1000.00 But Under $20,000.00.
The remaining 14 year old was petitioned for misdemeanor
Breaking and Entering (Illegal Entry). All four now face possible court proceedings in the Isabella
County Courts.
Some of the leads that assisted in the identification of
these suspects came from tips from witnesses.
The Mt. Pleasant Police Department would like to thank
these individuals for their assistance in closing this
investigation. A
private individual offered a reward in this case.
It is up to this individual how and if the reward is
dispersed.
