Leaf Pick-up

The Street Department collects leaves every fall. Leaf collection usually starts in mid-October and runs through mid-November depending on the weather. To participate in the leaf collection program, please follow these simple guidelines to insure your leaves will be removed:

• Rake leaves into the street gutter along the curb or to the street shoulder in uncurbed areas.

• Rake leaves into low piles and into the street gutters, taking care not to cover storm sewer catch basins. On Pickard, Mission, and High Streets, where traffic prohibits leaves in the street, leaves may be raked between the curb and the sidewalk.

• Please be sure leaves are free of branches, garden cuttings, grass clippings, and debris. Bagged leaves will not be picked up.

The Street Department crew will make two passes (approximately two weeks apart) through the city to collect leaves. If you have any questions regarding the collection program, you may call (989) 779-5401.
