Broadway Street reconstruction meetings planned

October 8, 2013 - Public meetings will be held October 17 to discuss plans to reconstruct Broadway Street from Bradley Street to the bridge at the Chippewa River.

The Broadway Street reconstruction project will be completed in two phases. Phase 1 will be from Bradley Street to Harris Street and will be constructed during the 2014 construction season. Phase 2 will be from Harris Street to the bridge and is currently scheduled to take place during the 2018 construction season. Construction will consist of the removal and replacement of the existing curb and gutter, asphalt and base. The street will generally stay the same width. However, some areas toward the east end will have bump out parking installed similar to the new portions of Michigan Street.

The project currently is in the early design process for both phases and the public is invited to public meetings to discuss any concerns regarding the design or the construction process with the project's consulting engineer and City representatives.

These representatives will be available in the Commission Chambers at City Hall on October 17 from 12 to 1 p.m. and from 5 to 6 p.m. to answer questions and take comments. Copies of the preliminary design will be available for review.

If you are unable to attend either meeting, feel free to contact Jason Moore, City engineering aide, at 989-779-5405 or at
