City of Mt. Pleasant issues order for all residential water customers to let water run

Feb. 14, 2014 - Due to the excessively deep frost, residential water customers in the City of Mt. Pleasant should run a stream of water in their homes effective immediately to prevent frozen service lines.

Mt. Pleasant’s Water Department wants residential customers to run a constant stream of cold water from one faucet about the size of a pencil lead. Residents who do not let their water run are at risk of having their pipes freeze.

This advisory is in effect until further notice. Business customers determined to be at risk for frozen pipes will be notified directly by the City. April water bills will be adjusted accordingly for the extra usage.

If you experience a water line break or water emergency, contact Central Dispatch at 989-773-1000.

Anyone with questions can contact City Hall at 989-779-5306.
