Keep Informed

Residents have several means to stay informed regarding city matters. These include:

  • TV Channel 96 (15 Digital)

    Cable Channel 96 (formerly 26) is the dedicated government access channel for City of Mount Pleasant, Charter Township of Union, and Village of Shepherd public information announcements and broadcasts. Charter Communications is required to provide this channel under its franchise agreement with the Mid-Michigan Cable Communications Consortium. The Consortium represents Alma, Breckenridge, Clare, Ithaca, Mt. Pleasant, Pine River Township, St. Louis, Shepherd, and Union Township.

    The information provided on Channel 96 is prepared and updated by City, Township and Village staff with equipment located at Mt. Pleasant City Hall, 320 W. Broadway, Mt. Pleasant, MI 48858.

  • "Connections" Newsletter

    The City of Mt. Pleasant produces a quarterly newsletter for its residents. "Connections" is designed to connect residents with City information, services and programs. It is mailed to all households* within the city limits of Mt. Pleasant. Each newsletter contains articles and dates of seasonal programs, operations and events; seasonal ordinance reminders; articles on how the City and its departments operate; what's new, and much more.

    Newsletters are always available for pick up at various locations throughout City Hall or at Public Safety, Public Works and Veterans Memorial Library. The newsletter can also be downloaded here.

  • AM Radio 1610

    Mt. Pleasant and Isabella County's Low frequency AM radio broadcast station is designed to keep area residents and visitors informed of local emergencies including weather, traffic backups, street closures, and civil emergencies. Residents and visitors can tune to AM 1610 on their radio dial to keep informed of needed emergency information anytime day or night.

    The broadcast antenna is located atop the Isabella County Building in downtown Mt. Pleasant. Its broadcasting range is within a minimum 4 mile radius.
