Volunteer of the Month

Therapy Dogs

Every Wednesday during the six-week PEAK Summer Camp Program the McGuire site received visits from Polly the Collie, Viper the Golden Retriever and Sadie the Golden Doodle.  These therapy dogs, specifically trained to listen to children read books, helps reluctant readers develop confidence as well as social and emotional skills.  Our PEAK participants enjoyed reading to their new furry friends and appreciated their time and love throughout the summer months.
Volunteers are an essential resource for Mt. Pleasant Parks & Recreation. They keep programs ticking and ensure their success through selfless giving of time and talents.

MPPR's Volunteer Recognition Program highlights the contributions of our volunteer workforce. Each month we recognize a volunteer for their outstanding service and invaluable contributions.
